What Requirements Are Needed To Be a Substitute Teacher In Colorado?
To qualify for a 1-year substitute authorization to work in K-12 classrooms in Colorado, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- You must be a U.S. citizen, authorized to work in the U.S.
- Complete a fingerprint-based criminal history report and have it on file with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
- Attest to having successful experience working with children.
